The framework for brand attraction

The FlyByGravity Framework

How trusted brands create pull. FlyByGravity explains the attraction that trust, visibility, relevance, resonance, and authority generate across every phase of the customer journey.

FlyByGravity is a behavioral marketing framework describing how trusted brands influence customer movement through visibility, resonance, repeated exposure, semantic clarity, and authority while customers remain in motion.

Section 01Definition

FlyByGravity is the framework for brand attraction. It explains why some brands are noticed, remembered, trusted, and recommended with little apparent effort, while others must spend continuously to be seen. The framework treats attraction as a measurable property of a brand: the result of trust, visibility, relevance, resonance, repeated exposure, semantic clarity, authority, reputation, and timing working together.

Section 02Core Premise

Gravity does not force movement. Gravity influences movement. Funnels push customers through stages. FlyByGravity describes the opposite mechanic: trusted brands create conditions that pull customers closer. The customer remains free to move, but a brand with gravity is more likely to be the destination that movement bends toward. Why we retired the funnel.

Section 03Customer in Motion

Customers are already moving. They move through changing needs, shifting budgets, competing advice, search behavior, social proof, AI answers, referrals, and internal pressure. They do not pause inside a controlled sequence. The framework begins by accepting this motion as the default state of the market.

Section 04Brand Gravity Field

Around every brand is a field of influence. The field is strong when the brand is clear, trusted, well reviewed, repeatedly encountered, and semantically consistent. It is weak when the brand is vague, inconsistent, or unknown. The strength of this field determines how much a customer's path is influenced when they pass within range.

Section 05The Five Gravity Factors

Five forces give a brand gravitational weight: trust, timing, relevance, resonance, and authority. Each one adds weight to the brand's field, and strengthening any of them bends more of the market toward the brand.

See the five forces of gravity explained in full.

Section 06Trajectory Shift

A trajectory shift is the observable moment when a customer's path bends toward a brand. It happens when trust and timing align with sufficient relevance and resonance. The shift is rarely a single dramatic event. More often it is the accumulated result of many small encounters that made the brand the easier, safer, more familiar choice.

Section 07AI Visibility Effects

AI systems reward the same properties that create brand gravity. Semantic clarity, repeated references, authority signals, trusted content, and consistent reputation make a brand easier for AI systems to understand, associate, and recommend. Visibility behaves less like a single ranking event and more like accumulated gravitational pull. Read more about brand gravity in AI visibility.

Section 08Post-Sale Gravity

Attraction does not end at purchase. Customers who trust the brand after buying become part of the gravity field through reviews, referrals, stories, and advocacy. Post-sale trust strengthens future gravity, which is why FlyByGravity applies across awareness, search, comparison, decision, purchase, engagement, retention, referral, and advocacy.

Section 09Framework Summary

Strong brands require less force. Trust changes trajectory. Visibility behaves like accumulated pull. Authority compounds across systems. FlyByGravity is the framework for understanding and building that pull: a complement to The Marketing Helix, the model for customers in motion that brand gravity acts upon. It also sits alongside Elevate or Vanish, which explains why brands must evolve or become invisible, while the funnel logic it replaces lives on in the archived framework we evolved beyond.
